About Wiesmann

Wiesmann is a boutique German automaker celebrated for its hand built sports cars that blend classic design with modern performance. Founded in 1988 in Dülmen, Germany, the company earned global recognition for its retro inspired roadsters and coupes powered by BMW engines, combining old world craftsmanship with precise German engineering. After a brief hiatus and ownership restructuring in the 2010s, Wiesmann has returned as an all electric performance brand, reinterpreting its heritage for the EV era while preserving its distinct identity rooted in exclusivity, artistry, and driving emotion.

The brand's revival centers on Project Thunderball, Wiesmann's first all electric sports car and the first open top roadster of its kind to enter the premium EV market. Project Thunderball embodies Wiesmann's design ethos, curved body lines, front engine proportions, and a handcrafted interior, while introducing a state of the art dual motor electric drivetrain producing over 650 horsepower and 1100 Nm of torque. Built on a bespoke lightweight aluminum carbon architecture, the vehicle achieves near perfect weight distribution, fast charging capability, and a range exceeding 300 miles, placing it in direct competition with the likes of Porsche and Lotus in the luxury EV sports segment.

Wiesmann's electric transition is powered by its partnership with British engineering specialists and European component suppliers for batteries, inverters, and control systems. The company places strong emphasis on tactile engagement and driving purity, developing its own rear wheel drive dynamics and advanced torque vectoring to retain the analog feel that defined its combustion predecessors. Its interior craftsmanship remains unmistakably bespoke, with each car tailored to individual customer specifications using fine leathers, machined metal accents, and artisanal detailing produced in house.

Manufacturing continues at the original Wiesmann factory in Dülmen, which has been upgraded to accommodate low volume EV production using carbon neutral practices. As one of Europe's last true coachbuilders, Wiesmann occupies a unique niche within the electrification landscape, offering an emotional, handcrafted alternative to mass produced electric sports cars. By fusing timeless design with next generation technology, Wiesmann demonstrates how tradition and innovation can coexist harmoniously in the age of electric performance.
