About Seres

Seres is a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Chongqing and owned by Seres Group Co., Ltd. (formerly known as Sokon Group). Founded in 2016, Seres operates as a premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand specializing in intelligent electric and extended-range vehicles. The company has gained significant global attention through its close partnership with Huawei Technologies, which supplies advanced digital systems, infotainment platforms, and autonomous driving technology for Seres-branded vehicles as well as co-developed models under the AITO sub-brand.

Seres was one of China's early EV startups to integrate vertically across R&D, battery systems, and manufacturing. Its first production model, the Seres SF5, launched in 2019 as a performance-oriented electric crossover with both fully electric and range-extended powertrains. The SF5 was among the first vehicles to adopt Huawei's in-car computing and smart connectivity solutions, marking the beginning of a strategic technology collaboration that would later evolve into the AITO lineup.

The brand's flagship model, the Seres 5 (internationally known as the Seres SF5 successor), features dual electric motors producing up to 430 kW (577 hp) and 940 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 4 seconds. The vehicle is powered by a 90 kWh battery, offering up to 530 kilometers of range (CLTC), and includes Huawei's DriveONE electric powertrain platform with intelligent energy management and adaptive all-wheel drive. The cabin integrates Huawei's HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit, a voice-activated, AI-based infotainment system with OTA (over-the-air) updates, facial recognition, and seamless connectivity with Huawei devices.

In addition to pure BEVs, Seres also produces range-extended electric vehicles (EREVs) designed to eliminate range anxiety while maintaining electric performance. The Seres 7 SUV, launched in 2024, combines a dual-motor electric drive system with a small onboard generator, achieving over 1,000 kilometers of total range. The model also features Huawei's ADS 2.0 autonomous driving suite with LiDAR, radar, and high-definition mapping for Level 2+ semi-autonomous capability.

Seres operates its primary manufacturing facilities in Chongqing and Liangjiang, both highly automated smart factories with integrated digital control systems. The company's global strategy includes expanding exports to Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America under the Seres brand, where it serves as a technological ambassador for Chinese-made intelligent EVs. In Europe, the Seres 3 compact electric SUV (with a 53 kWh battery and 330 km WLTP range) is already available, positioned as an affordable entry-level EV for urban users.

Through its partnership with Huawei, Seres has positioned itself at the forefront of intelligent electrification- combining advanced computing, AI integration, and over-the-air software with luxury interiors and performance engineering. The collaboration has allowed Seres to compete directly with brands such as NIO, XPeng, and BYD in China's premium electric segment.

Pure Electric Identity

Seres is a transitioning automaker with a growing emphasis on pure electric mobility and advanced hybrid systems. With models such as the Seres 5 and Seres 7 featuring Huawei's smart cockpit and high-performance electric powertrains- and global exports expanding rapidly- Seres embodies China's convergence of intelligent design, digital connectivity, and zero-emission vehicle technology.
