About Radar

Radar Auto is a Chinese electric vehicle brand owned by Geely Holding Group, officially launched in 2022. Created as Geely's dedicated sub-brand for electric pickups and lifestyle-oriented utility vehicles, Radar represents the group's entry into the growing segment of electric trucks, off-roaders, and adventure-oriented EVs. The brand combines Geely's advanced EV technology with rugged functionality, targeting both commercial and recreational users who value capability, sustainability, and digital connectivity.

Radar's first production model, the Radar RD6, is a fully electric midsize pickup truck built on Geely's SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture)- a modular, skateboard-style EV platform also used by Zeekr, Lotus, and Smart. The RD6 features a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 200 kW (268 hp) and 384 Nm of torque, enabling 0-100 km/h acceleration in around 6 seconds. Battery options range from 63 to 100 kWh, delivering up to 632 kilometers of range (CLTC). The truck supports both 11 kW AC and 120 kW DC charging, allowing an 80% charge in under 40 minutes.

Beyond its core specs, the RD6 stands out for its utility-focused design. It offers a 1,200-liter composite-lined cargo bed, 450 kg payload capacity, and 3,000 kg towing capability, positioning it as a versatile electric work and recreation vehicle. A key feature is its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) power export system, enabling the RD6 to function as a mobile energy source for tools, camping gear, or even charging other EVs. Multiple power outlets integrated into the bed and cabin make it ideal for outdoor and off-grid use.

Radar vehicles also incorporate advanced connectivity through Geely's Galaxy OS, offering remote vehicle management, OTA updates, and intelligent energy monitoring. The RD6's minimalist interior design includes a large central touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and durable materials suited for outdoor use. The platform's modularity supports both RWD and AWD configurations, with future variants expected to introduce dual-motor setups for enhanced off-road capability.

In addition to the RD6, Radar has announced plans to expand its lineup with off-road SUVs and utility-focused crossovers using the same SEA platform, aiming to compete with brands like Rivian, Tesla, and BYD in the electric adventure vehicle space. Production is handled at Geely's state-of-the-art Hangzhou Bay manufacturing complex, ensuring shared supply chains and high production quality across Geely's EV portfolio.

Radar's brand positioning emphasizes sustainability and exploration- a lifestyle rooted in the connection between mobility and nature. Its vehicles are designed not only for work and transportation but also as platforms for leisure, energy independence, and outdoor living, aligning with global trends toward renewable-powered adventure vehicles.
