About Maxus
Maxus is a Chinese automotive brand owned by the SAIC Motor Corporation, headquartered in Shanghai. Originally a British commercial vehicle marque (LDV), the brand was acquired by SAIC in 2010 and relaunched globally under the Maxus name. Today, Maxus produces a diverse lineup of commercial and passenger vehicles, including vans, trucks, and SUVs, and has become one of China's leading exporters of electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs). The brand is active across more than 70 countries, including major markets in Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Latin America.
Maxus's electrification strategy focuses primarily on the commercial and fleet sectors, where reliability, range, and low total cost of ownership are key. The company's best known models include the eDeliver 3 and eDeliver 9 electric vans, both of which are widely deployed by logistics and delivery companies in Europe and Asia. These vehicles feature ranges between 200 and 350 kilometers (WLTP) depending on configuration, and support both AC and DC fast charging. Maxus also produces electric versions of its passenger vans, such as the MIFA 9 and EG10, designed for luxury and shuttle transport.
The MIFA 9, introduced in 2022, represents Maxus's flagship premium MPV and one of the first vehicles built on SAIC's Maxus Intelligent Flexible Architecture (MIFA). It offers seating for up to seven passengers, dual motor all wheel drive, and a range of up to 520 kilometers (CLTC). The vehicle integrates an advanced digital cockpit, multi zone climate control, and a suite of driver assistance features, positioning it competitively against luxury EV people movers from brands such as Zeekr, BYD, and Kia.
Maxus has also introduced electric pickup trucks, including the T90 EV, which is among the first fully electric pickups available in European markets. The T90 EV features a 177 horsepower motor, 88.5 kWh battery, and a range of up to 330 kilometers, offering a versatile zero emission solution for both fleet and recreational users. Future models will utilize SAIC's latest Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), shared with the MG and Roewe brands, supporting 800 volt charging, V2L (vehicle to load) capability, and enhanced connectivity.
As a brand within the SAIC portfolio, Maxus benefits from shared R&D, battery supply, and intelligent vehicle software development through the SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company. This allows it to offer a wide variety of electric options across commercial, passenger, and light utility segments, with continued expansion into right hand drive markets and electrified exports from China.
Electrification Status
Maxus is a transitioning electric automaker with a strong focus on commercial and fleet electrification. With established BEV models such as the eDeliver 9, MIFA 9, and T90 EV, and new 800 volt platforms under development, Maxus continues to expand its zero emission offerings across global markets while maintaining practicality, durability, and value.
