About MG

MG (Morris Garages) is a British-born automotive brand now owned by SAIC Motor Corporation of China, headquartered in Shanghai. Founded in 1924 and historically known for its lightweight sports cars, MG has been successfully reinvented as a global electric vehicle brand combining accessible design, modern technology, and value-oriented performance. Under SAIC ownership since 2007, MG has evolved into one of the world's fastest-growing EV manufacturers, with operations spanning Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America.

MG's electric transformation began with the launch of the MG ZS EV in 2019- a compact crossover that became one of Europe's best-selling affordable electric SUVs. The brand followed this success with the MG5 Electric, the world's first all-electric station wagon, and the MG4 Electric, a compact hatchback built on SAIC's dedicated Modular Scalable Platform (MSP). The MG4 has been particularly well received for its dynamic handling, efficiency, and competitive pricing, offering up to 520 kilometers of range (WLTP) and 150 kW DC fast charging capability.

The MG Cyberster, unveiled in 2023, marks the brand's return to its roadster roots. This fully electric convertible sports car combines modern performance with classic MG design cues. Built on the MSP architecture, it features dual-motor all-wheel drive, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds, and advanced digital displays integrated into the cockpit. The Cyberster signals MG's move upmarket while honoring its sporting heritage.

MG's lineup also includes models like the Marvel R Electric, a mid-size luxury crossover, and the Mulan (the domestic name for the MG4), both of which highlight MG's growing focus on smart connectivity and global design appeal. The company's vehicles integrate SAIC's iSMART connectivity suite, offering cloud-based services, OTA software updates, and voice-controlled infotainment systems.

MG's global R&D network includes design centers in London, Shanghai, and Thailand, reflecting its "designed in Britain, built for the world" philosophy. Production primarily takes place in China, with expanding export capacity to meet growing demand across Europe and Asia-Pacific. The brand's future plans include adopting 800-volt ultra-fast charging systems and solid-state batteries developed through SAIC's next-generation EV programs.

Pure Electric Identity

MG is a transitioning automaker rapidly expanding its fully electric portfolio across global markets. With models such as the MG4, MG5, and Cyberster, the brand is re-establishing its legacy for accessible performance in the zero-emission era, combining heritage-inspired design with modern efficiency, digital connectivity, and competitive affordability.
