About Luxeed
Luxeed is a Chinese premium electric vehicle brand jointly developed by Chery Automobile and Huawei, combining Chery's vehicle engineering and manufacturing expertise with Huawei's advanced intelligent driving and connectivity technologies. Established in 2023, Luxeed represents a new generation of high technology EV brands designed to compete in the upper mid to luxury segment of China's fast expanding new energy market. The name "Luxeed" derives from "Luxury" and "Exceed," symbolizing the fusion of performance, design, and intelligence.
The brand's first production model, the Luxeed S7, debuted in late 2023 as a sleek, fastback style electric sedan built on Chery's dedicated E0X platform. The S7 features an 800 volt high voltage system, fast charging capability that adds 200 kilometers of range in 5 minutes, and long range variants capable of over 700 kilometers (CLTC). It is powered by Huawei's DriveONE electric drive system and equipped with the company's HarmonyOS 4 smart cockpit and ADS 2.0 autonomous driving suite, integrating LiDAR and advanced sensor fusion for high precision urban and highway navigation.
The S7's interior design emphasizes digital luxury, sustainability, and minimalist ergonomics, featuring an expansive panoramic screen, AI assisted voice interaction, and immersive audio technology from Huawei Sound. The sedan is available in single and dual motor configurations, offering performance comparable to global premium EVs while maintaining efficiency and smooth power delivery. Manufacturing takes place at Chery's state of the art facilities in Wuhu, ensuring high quality standards and scalable production.
Luxeed plans to expand its portfolio with additional models, including the Luxeed S9 luxury fastback and an upcoming electric SUV, both leveraging the same E0X modular architecture. The brand targets consumers seeking advanced technology integration and premium electric performance at competitive price points, positioning it as a direct rival to Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y, as well as NIO's ET5 and ET7.
The partnership structure reflects Huawei's role as a technology supplier rather than a manufacturer- Huawei provides the intelligent systems, sensors, and software, while Chery handles vehicle engineering, homologation, and production. Together, the two companies aim to set a new standard for "smart luxury" electric vehicles in China and eventually export to global markets.
