About Lingbox
Lingbox, also known as Lingbao EV) is a Chinese electric vehicle brand headquartered in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. It was established in 2018 by the Henan Suda Electric Vehicle Group and focuses on producing compact, affordable battery electric vehicles designed for urban mobility. Lingbox positions itself in the entry level EV market, targeting young drivers and city commuters with small, practical cars that combine low operating cost, compact dimensions, and straightforward digital connectivity.
The brand's first model, the Lingbox BOX, debuted in 2020 as a compact three door city EV with seating for four passengers. It features a front motor rated at approximately 45 kW, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, and a driving range of around 300 kilometers (CLTC). The vehicle's small footprint and light weight make it ideal for dense urban environments, and it is marketed as an accessible, easy to operate entry point into electric mobility. The Lingbox BOX has been offered in several variants and limited edition trims, appealing to younger consumers through colorful personalization options and simple app based controls.
Lingbox's design philosophy emphasizes affordability and simplicity, but the brand has incorporated increasingly advanced features into newer models, such as digital instrument clusters, smartphone connectivity, and basic driver assistance functions. It has also explored low volume exports to Southeast Asia and other developing markets seeking compact EVs for city transportation.
The company's production is supported by Suda's manufacturing facilities in Henan Province, leveraging vertically integrated battery and power electronics supply chains. Lingbox operates independently within Suda's broader EV ecosystem, maintaining a focus on budget oriented vehicles that meet China's government incentives for small new energy cars.
Pure Electric Identity
Lingbox is a pure play electric automaker, developing all vehicles and technologies exclusively for zero emission urban mobility. Its focus on compact design, affordability, and efficiency positions it as one of China's emerging city EV brands serving the entry level electric vehicle segment.
