About Leapmotor

Leapmotor is a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, founded in 2015 by Zhu Jiangming, a former executive of Dahua Technology. The company is a technology driven automaker that develops its vehicles, software, and core components in house, including electric drive systems, battery packs, and intelligent driving platforms. Leapmotor positions itself as a vertically integrated EV company focused on affordability, innovation, and smart connectivity across multiple vehicle segments.

The brand's product portfolio spans compact cars, crossovers, and performance models. Key vehicles include the T03 city EV, C11 midsize SUV, C01 electric sedan, and C10 global SUV introduced in 2024. The T03 is one of China's best selling small EVs, known for its efficiency and value, while the C11 and C01 showcase Leapmotor's high tech interiors, autonomous driving capability, and advanced battery integration. The company's newer models are built on the LEAP 3.0 architecture, supporting 800 volt high voltage charging and advanced driver assistance features.

In 2023, Leapmotor announced a landmark global partnership with Stellantis, which acquired a 20 percent stake in the company and formed the joint venture Leapmotor International. This collaboration allows Stellantis to distribute Leapmotor vehicles outside China, beginning in Europe and expanding to other global markets. The partnership also grants Leapmotor access to Stellantis' supply chain, production expertise, and overseas distribution networks, dramatically accelerating its international growth potential.

Leapmotor's vehicles feature the brand's proprietary Leap Pilot intelligent driving system, integrating camera, radar, and LiDAR sensors for L2 and higher levels of autonomy. The company also designs its own Lingxin intelligent chips and electric drive modules, reflecting its emphasis on vertical integration to control quality and cost. Interiors feature large touchscreen displays, AI powered voice assistants, and seamless OTA software updates, aligning Leapmotor with China's new generation of digital native EV brands.

With its blend of self developed technology, affordability, and global expansion through Stellantis, Leapmotor has become one of China's fastest growing EV startups. It competes directly with brands such as Neta, Xpeng, and BYD in the mid to upper mainstream electric segment while expanding its reach internationally through shared production and sales infrastructure.
