About Lancia

Lancia is an Italian automobile manufacturer and one of the oldest marques in Europe, founded in 1906 and headquartered in Turin. Today it operates under the Stellantis Group alongside brands such as Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Jeep. Long celebrated for its engineering innovation and motorsport heritage, Lancia is now undergoing a major revival centered entirely on electrification and modern Italian design, marking a dramatic reinvention of the historic brand for the EV era.

After years of dormancy and limited market presence, Stellantis relaunched Lancia's electrification strategy in 2023 with the unveiling of the Lancia Pu+Ra Zero concept, a design manifesto signaling the brand's new direction. This sculptural concept introduced Lancia's "Pu+Ra" (Pure and Radical) design philosophy, combining minimalist geometry with expressive details inspired by classic models such as the Stratos and Beta. The first production vehicle under this revival, the new Lancia Ypsilon, debuted in 2024 as a premium compact hatchback available in both fully electric and mild hybrid variants.

The Ypsilon EV is built on Stellantis' STLA Small platform and shares components with the Peugeot e 208 and Opel Corsa Electric. It features a 51 kWh battery pack providing up to 400 kilometers of range (WLTP), DC fast charging, and a refined interior emphasizing sustainable materials such as recycled Alcantara and biobased fabrics. The Ypsilon reestablishes Lancia's presence in key European markets beginning with Italy, France, and Spain.

Lancia's next models will include the Gamma, a sleek midsize electric crossover due around 2026, and the Delta, a sporty compact EV hatchback planned for 2028. Both will utilize Stellantis' STLA Medium and STLA Large architectures and continue the brand's focus on elegant design, digital craftsmanship, and quiet electric performance. Lancia also plans to offer all vehicles exclusively in electric form by the end of the decade, making it one of Stellantis' first brands to go fully zero emission.

The brand's new design and engineering direction is supported by Stellantis' pan European EV ecosystem, with production localized in Italy and close collaboration with sister brands DS Automobiles and Alfa Romeo to share technology and software platforms. Lancia aims to recapture its reputation for refined Italian design and innovation, positioning itself as a style driven electric marque for urban and premium markets.

Pure Electric Identity

Lancia is transitioning toward becoming a pure play electric automaker. With the new Ypsilon EV as its foundation and future all electric Gamma and Delta models in development, Lancia's rebirth under Stellantis represents the fusion of Italian design heritage and modern electrification, a revival of a legendary brand reborn for the zero emission era.
