About DeLorean

DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) is an American automotive brand reborn from the legacy of the original DeLorean founded by John Z. DeLorean in 1975. The modern DeLorean organization, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, was established to revive the iconic nameplate through advanced design and electrification. Building on the cultural impact of the original DMC-12, the company's new direction combines nostalgia with cutting edge electric vehicle technology aimed at the luxury performance segment.

The first model under the revitalized brand is the DeLorean Alpha5, a fully electric grand tourer designed by Italdesign, the same studio responsible for the original DMC-12. The Alpha5 features the brand's signature gullwing doors, a sleek aerodynamic profile, and a modernized digital interior that merges retro cues with futuristic styling. It is expected to deliver a range of more than 300 miles, dual motor all wheel drive, and performance on par with contemporary premium EVs. While production was initially planned for 2025, industry reports indicate that the project's launch timeline has been extended as the company continues to secure manufacturing partners and finalize homologation.

Beyond the Alpha5, DeLorean has teased future concepts that include the Alpha2, Alpha3, and Alpha4, representing a narrative timeline of the brand's design and technological evolution. These prototypes serve to illustrate the company's long term vision of becoming a sustainable luxury performance manufacturer, blending emotional design with electric innovation.

DeLorean's relaunch underscores a broader trend of heritage brands reimagining themselves for the electric age. By combining its iconic identity, advanced engineering collaborations, and renewed focus on high performance EV technology, DeLorean aims to bridge classic automotive heritage with the future of zero emission grand touring.
