About Caterham

Caterham Cars is a British sports car manufacturer best known for its lightweight, driver focused vehicles and its long association with the iconic Lotus Seven design. Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Dartford, England, Caterham has built a global reputation for simplicity, agility, and mechanical purity. The company's hand built road and track cars embody a back to basics philosophy that prioritizes direct engagement and performance through lightness rather than electronic intervention or excess power.

In recent years, Caterham has begun its transition toward electrification while preserving its traditional engineering values. The company's first electric concept, Project V, represents a bold step into the modern EV era without abandoning the core attributes that define the brand. Designed in collaboration with Italdesign, Project V is a fully electric 2+1 sports coupe built around a lightweight aluminum and composite structure. It is powered by a single rear mounted electric motor producing around 270 horsepower and capable of 0 to 100 km/h in under 4.5 seconds, with an estimated range of more than 400 kilometers.

Project V is designed to deliver the same sense of connection and immediacy as Caterham's classic models, emphasizing balance, weight distribution, and precise steering feel. The minimalist interior combines analog inspired controls with a modern digital interface, reflecting Caterham's philosophy of retaining driver focus while integrating only essential technology. The vehicle's compact proportions and low mass make it one of the lightest EV sports coupes under development.

Caterham's approach to electrification also extends to exploring an electric version of its traditional Seven model, demonstrating the company's commitment to sustainable performance without compromise. By maintaining its engineering independence and focusing on simplicity and engagement, Caterham aims to prove that electric power can coexist with the purity and excitement that have defined the brand for five decades.
