About AION
AION is a Chinese electric vehicle brand under Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group), one of China's largest state backed automakers. Established in 2018, AION serves as GAC's dedicated new energy vehicle division, focused exclusively on battery electric and intelligent connected vehicles. The brand combines in house battery development, electric drivetrains, and software integration to deliver efficient, high performance EVs across multiple segments.
AION's lineup includes compact and midsize models such as the AION Y, AION S, AION V, and AION LX, each designed around GAC's proprietary GEP 3.0 platform and ADiGO intelligent driving architecture. These vehicles feature advanced electric powertrains, high energy density batteries, and fast charging systems capable of adding significant range in minutes. AION also operates a network of ultra fast charging stations throughout China, supporting its goal of nationwide EV accessibility.
As part of GAC's broader electrification strategy, AION maintains close technical partnerships with CATL and Huawei to enhance battery performance, connectivity, and smart driving capabilities. CATL supplies high energy battery cells and fast charging solutions, while Huawei contributes digital cockpit systems and computing platforms used in AION's intelligent interface. These collaborations strengthen AION's position as a leading technology brand within China's new energy vehicle market.
With production centered in Guangzhou and exports planned to select global markets, AION represents GAC's long term vision for electrified and intelligent transportation. Its combination of proprietary technology, strong supplier partnerships, and rapid innovation timeline positions AION as one of China's most advanced and forward looking EV brands.
